Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 22 February 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules for using Dependal's transactional email API and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Transactional-only use

Dependal is designed for transactional and service-related email (for example: sign-in codes, receipts, account notifications, password resets, and operational alerts).

Marketing, promotional, bulk outreach, cold email, affiliate email, or newsletter-style campaigns are not permitted unless Dependal has explicitly approved your use case in writing.

2. Prohibited content and activity

You must not use the Service to send, host, or facilitate:

  • Unsolicited email (“spam”), including cold outreach or bulk promotional messages.
  • Email to purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested lists.
  • Phishing, impersonation, fraud, or deceptive content.
  • Malware, spyware, ransomware, or links to malicious content.
  • Illegal content, or content that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • Adult content where prohibited by law, or exploitative/harmful content.
  • Hate, harassment, threats, or incitement of violence.
  • Content that violates applicable laws or regulations (including privacy and marketing laws).

3. Consent and recipient expectations

You must only email recipients who reasonably expect to hear from you based on your relationship with them. You are responsible for ensuring you have an appropriate lawful basis to process recipient data and send messages.

4. Deliverability and complaint thresholds

To protect deliverability and prevent abuse, Dependal monitors sending patterns and feedback signals (including bounces and complaints). We may apply throttling, block specific destinations, or pause sending if your activity indicates elevated risk.

5. Domain and identity requirements

You may be required to verify sending domains and configure authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) before sending at scale. Dependal may also require additional information to validate your identity, use case, and consent practices.

6. Enforcement

If we believe you have violated this AUP, we may take action including (without limitation) rate limiting, suspension, termination, and removal of content, and may report unlawful activity where required.

7. Reporting abuse

If you believe a message sent through Dependal is abusive, contact: abuse@dependal.com
